Adult Helper
Before submitting your Adult Membership Application, there are three things you need to complete.
You'll find the links and details for each below: your Working With Vulnerable Peoples Card, the Safe from Harm online module, and the Introduction to Scouting guide. Work through each one in order, and hold on to any certificates or registration numbers as you'll need them for your application.
All adults involved in Scouting activities must hold a current WWVP registration. The card is free for Scouts Australia volunteers. You can apply through the Tasmanian Department of Justice.
When applying, select that you are volunteering with an organisation, tick the organisation box, and select "The Scouts Association of Australia - Tasmania Branch". The remaining details will auto-populate. Use your date of application as the start date.
You will need three current identity documents to register: one commencement of identity document (such as a birth certificate or passport), one primary use in the community document (such as a driver's licence or student ID), and one secondary use in the community document (such as a Medicare card or bank card).
If you already have a current WWVP Card, have your registration number ready for your Adult Membership Application.
All new members are required to complete the Safe from Harm online module through the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM).
It is recommended that you take a screenshot or photo of the completion page when you finish, as there can be a delay in receiving the certificate by email. You'll need a copy of the certificate or image for your application.
